This is a beautiful, moving video that pays tribute to the many IDF soldiers who have given their lives defending their land.
As of “Yom Hazikaron” (Israel Memorial Day) 2015, there have been 23,320 fallen soldiers and civilian victims of war and terrorism. In the past year alone, Israel lost 116 precious lives.
There are about 553 soldiers, including St.-Sgt. Oron Shaul, who was killed during Operation Protective Edge last summer, whose place of burial remains unknown. The ministry said there is a total of 9,753 bereaved families, 4,958 widows and 2,049 orphans aged up to 30.
With heavy hearts and too many tears, the Jewish people mourn those who have fallen. We remember those who gave their lives defending this holy land and we pray that no more lives will have to be lost for us to remain here.
