Renewable energy system means a fixture, product, device, or interacting group of fixtures, products, or devices on the customer’s side of the meter that use 1 or more renewable energy resources to generate electricity. Wind energy system means equipment that converts and then stores or transfers energy from the wind into usable forms of energy. This equipment includes any base, blade, foundation, generator, nacelle, rotor, tower, transformer, vane, wire, inverter, batteries or other component used in the system. Critical Energy Infrastructure Information means specific engineering, vulnerability, or detailed design information about proposed or existing Critical Infrastructure that (i) relates details about the production, generation, transportation, transmission, or distribution of energy; Small wind energy system means a wind energy conversion system consisting of a wind turbine, a tower, and associated control or conversion electronics, which has a rated capacity of not more than 100 KW and which is intended to primarily reduce on-site consumption of utility power.
Energy Savings means an amount of saved energy determined by measuring and,or estimating consumption before and after implementation of an energy efficiency improvement measure, whilst ensuring normalization for external conditions that affect energy consumption; Energy recovery means the use of combustible packaging waste as a means to generate energy through direct incineration with or without other waste but with recovery of the heat; Renewable energy facility means an electric generation unit or other facility or installation that produces electric energy using a Renewable Energy Source. Gas company means any person distributing gas within the corporate limits or authorized and proposing to so engage.
Renewable Energy Certificate or “REC” means a certificate, credit, allowance, green tag, or other transferable indicia, howsoever entitled, created by an Applicable Program or Certification Authority indicating generation of a particular quantity of energy, or Product associated with the generation of a specified quantity of energy from a Renewable Energy Source by a Renewable Energy Facility.
A REC may include some or all additional Environmental Attributes associated with the generation of electricity, and those Environmental Attributes may, but need not be, Verified or Certified by the same or different Verification Authorities or Certification Authorities, and dis-aggregated and retained or sold separately, all as the Parties agree in a Product Order. A REC is separate from the energy produced and may be separately transferred or conveyed.
